Twenty Peter Hook Bass "Covers"
Only a few weeks now before the first of my The First Time I Heard e-books begin to appear. Last week, the Kickstarter fund I created earned its goal (thanks thanks thanks to all who helped out!), so now I'm just in the final stages of copyediting, proofreading, and finalizing my introductions--and then it's off to the e-book formatter for the last part of the long process.
The first two books to appear online will be the Joy Division/New Order and the Cocteau Twins books, with the David Bowie to come directly after that. The Kate Bush and The Smiths books will follow a few weeks later.
In preparation for the Joy Division/New Order book, here's a little tribute to bassist Peter Hook--a collection of YouTubers attempting (and for the most part, succeeding) covers of Hook's bass guitar lines.

Twelve Warszawas
I'm halfway through the process of (hopefully) funding my "First Time" book series through Kickstarter. As of today, the project has earned 73% of its goal, so thanks to everyone who has contributed--hopefully this will get funded, and the books will be online soon! I've also created a Facebook page for the project, where I'll be posting updates, videos from musicians who have contributed, news about writers who have taken part, and other relevant information.
And, since one of the five books in the series focuses on David Bowie: a YouTube tour of "Warszawa," my favorite track from my favorite Bowie album, Low.
